We created an ocean for science. We saw the water travel up the sand creating wet sand near the water and dry sand away from it. Then it became a sand and water station.

Music practice:

Spanish: drawing bears.

Science field trip! Dr. Pendergrass's class created small lessons and activities with science. The kids were able to travel to each place.

Then we were going to do our river science experiment. In their Venn diagram, they told me that there is grass on the side of rivers but now on oceans. So we decided to dye our sand green.

However, we saw that once the sand dried, it became almost white again. So that didn't work and we used the green sand for a more elaborate sand and water station.

Then, using just food coloring, we dyed sand yellow, green, and water blue.

This was the amazing experiment. We used yellow sand and blue water. The water traveled down the hill through the indentation I had made. As the sand soaked up the blue water, the sand turned green - illustrating how water gives life to plants. Then it even made a peninsula and we were able to talk about how they are formed and how deltas are formed. It even allowed for us to talk about soil erosion. This worked out far better than I had even imagined.

Then we added it to our sand and water station:

Time to play!

The Wesley came and colored with our kids:

We drew butterflies in Spanish:

We did a lesson about cave paintings and Native Americans for our Thanksgiving play. Then kids created their own cave drawing on their shirts.

This is what the kids came up with about how Native Americans got different colors for the cave writings.
