Our First Day!

Your little ones have just had their first day of school! As a class, we decided to keep the school rules as our classroom rules. These are be nice, share, take turns; listen; use a quiet voice; walk-don't run; and keep your hands and feet to yourself. We also spent a lot of time practicing center procedures. The children and I read several books and then learned how to use markers to show the class a word or letter they know. I am posting pictures below to show you what they have done!

We wrote our letters, names, and numbers in shaving cream at the writing station!

In science center we made thumbprints on card with ink pads and learned that we are unique! No one in the entire world has our fingerprints! We used magnifying glasses to compare our fingerprints to our friends' fingerprints. (Sadly I do not have a picture of these!)

During creative play, we explored the different outfits. Here we have a mouse and a tiger!

In blocks, we created the campus school and then a vacation area to enjoy.

Outside, we enjoyed a nice day and built rock castles - GROUP PICTURE OPPORTUNITY!

We have a wonderful group! We are working on using nice words to ask for things and being kindly kinders to everyone we come in contact with. I thoroughly enjoyed our first day and I know your little ones did too!

Story of the Day:
At the end of the day around 4:30:
Me: Okay, my kindergartners, I'm heading home for the day!
Student: You don't live at school?

Have a wonderful day! And also, please bring family pictures and baby pictures to school by this Friday.
