It's farmer day! I haven't gotten a group picture with the kids yet but you can bet that is on the agenda for after nap time. They are all so darling. I tried to draw on freckles this morning but so far all I've had were people ask why I have dots on my face - oh well, I tried! :)
This morning, the children filled me in on things that happened while I was away at the wedding. We have a new book case! It will take me a long time to fill it up - it's huge! We sang songs about numbers and the letter D and saw we are on the 45th day of school. We talked about the field trip and how when we get back we are going to decorate the room for our Halloween party. We read the book Duck on a Bike and practiced retelling the story. Then we had stations for a little while before Spanish came to teach us body parts and colors:
Here we are finding certain colors in our color box.
Then we drew body parts in certain colors to make a person:
We lined up to get our prize from our Spanish teachers:
Then it was snack and then library time:
We made witch hats!
Since it was so cold outside, we played inside. All our helpers were definitely appreciated at this moment:
Then it was center time:
A puppet show!
After center time we read a book called Boo to a Goose and then discussed how cotton was made into fabric. We have a set from Ms. Kim that has raw cotton with seeds, cotton without seeds, then the cotton spoon to make a thread, and then it in bunches. The kids really enjoyed touching and feeling the different parts.
Now it is nap time. Once they wake up,we will be learning more about cotton. Then Phi Mu is coming to visit and they are going to read to each of us! We will be painting in our letter and number books, discussing different clothing from pioneer time to ours, and reading more books!
